ALPINE PATHS, TRAILS & PANORAMIC TOURS
A true paradise for cycling enthusiasts awaits you around the Arthurhaus: gentle alpine paths, panoramic high-altitude routes and challenging trails lead through an impressive mountain landscape. Whether on a mountain bike or relaxed on an e-bike – here you will find tours of all levels of difficulty.
E-biking
With a tailwind through the mountains
The Hochkönig towers majestically over the varied bike paradise around Mühlbach with its jagged Mandlwände. With the modern KTM e-Race bikes, discovering the most beautiful alpine pastures and mountain bike tours is now even easier – and above all more enjoyable.
The environmentally friendly 250 watt motors support your pedaling precisely when things get steep: Depending on your needs, you can choose between four support levels – from 35% to 300% additional pedal power. This means that even more challenging routes become achievable goals – without any pressure to perform.
Perfect for tours together: Thanks to the individually adjustable support, sporty and leisure cyclists can finally cycle together – whether it’s a family outing, a ride with friends or a leisurely day in the mountains.
The KTM e-Race bikes are available directly from the e-bike rental shop in Mühlbach – simply hire one, saddle up and get cycling!
High wedge
Panoramic tour Hochkeil; easy, approx. 8 km
This leisurely circular tour is perfect for anyone who wants to combine nature, exercise and beautiful views. The starting point is the Schweizerhütte Alpine dairy – from here the gravel path leads past the baby lifts, through a gentle up and down around the Hochkeil.
Particularly rewarding: the wide view of Mühlbach, which makes the route a real connoisseur’s tour. Below the Saukar parking lot, the route rejoins the main road. From here you have several options: either a leisurely return to the Arthurhaus, or – if you haven’t had enough yet – continue on to the Vier Hütten or down to Mühlbach.
Tip:
The route is not only ideal for cycling, but also makes an excellent running route with panoramic views.
Four huts
To the "Four Huts"; medium, approx. 11 km
This scenic tour branches off at the Mandlwand-Bundesstraße in the direction of Kopphütte. You can either take the road downhill directly from the Arthurhaus or first take a leisurely ride around the Hochkeil and join the route there.
After a climb of around 20 minutes, you reach the charming Kopphütte, from where you continue on a well-maintained gravel road – past the Koppalm and into the beautiful Widdersberg mountain pasture area.
There they stand: the famous four huts – which are actually five. One was destroyed by an avalanche, two were rebuilt later – and so the architecture alone tells of the power of nature and the history of this special place.
In front of the imposing 900-metre-high Wetterwand, the alpine huts invite you to take a break: The best thing to do here is to enjoy regional delicacies and let your gaze wander over the alpine meadows and mountains.
A tour for connoisseurs, story collectors – and anyone who wants to experience real alpine life.
High wedge II
To the summit of the Hochkeil; steep, approx. 3 km
This tour is short, but has it all: from the upper Arthurhaus parking lot, turn right onto the gravel road, which climbs steeply right at the start. After the first steep climb, you reach the Troiboden with its small hut – ideal for a short breather.
The road then leads steadily uphill in long serpentines to the mountain station of the Rosswieslift. The last 100 meters to the summit cross require your balance and a bit of riding technique – you will be rewarded with a great finishing moment.
At the summit, a breathtaking view of the rugged rock towers of the Mandlwände opens up – rugged, majestic and very close.
A short tour with character – perfect for those who want to get up high quickly.
Tip:
The route is not only ideal for cycling, but also makes an excellent running route with panoramic views.
